The CT scan uses computer processed combinations of many X-Rays measurements taken from different angles to produce a cross sectional image of specific area of a scanned object, allowing the inside of the organ to be visualized without opening the body. The clinic has a mid-range 16 slice CT scan

X-Rays and Flouroscopy
Diagnostic Center
X-rays are highly penetrating, ionizing radiation. Therefore X-ray machines are used to take pictures of dense tissues such as bones and teeth. This is because bones absorb the radiation more than the less dense soft tissue. X-rays from a source pass through the body and onto a photographic cassette. Fluoroscopy is an imaging modality that uses x-rays to allow real-time visualization of body structures. During fluoroscopy, x-ray beams are continually emitted and captured on a screen, producing a real-time, dynamic image. This allows for dynamic assessment of anatomy and function. High density contrast agents may be introduced into the patient to allow for greater differentiation between structures.

Mammography uses low energy X-Rays to examine the human breast for diagnosis and screening. The goal of mammography is early detection of breast cancer. The clinic mammography machine has stereotactic view, tomosynthesis engine and 3D biopsy software.

Multi-functional 3D/4D ultrasound The ultrasound has 5 transducers and software so that a multitude of diagnostic tools are readily available to the sonographer. Medical ultrasound is a diagnostic imaging technique based on the application of ultrasound. It is used to create an image of internal body structures such as tendons, muscles, joints, blood vessels, and internal organs. The clinic has a multi-functional 3D/4D ultrasound scan machine with 5 probes.
